During the pandemic, a survey conducted showed that close to 80% of the working class in India experienced a loss of income and over 90% of them are going to experience more hardships in the future. While all sections have taken a hit, perhaps the worst affected are those in the low-income bracket. Many under privileged girls were not able to afford many of their basic needs. While normal days are tough for them to fulfill their basic necessities, it was difficult to think how those girls would be suffering with hygiene during their menstrual cycles, especially in countries like India and Nepal where periods and girls' hygiene is something never spoken about. Our goal is to bring hygiene to poor and low-income girls globally. As girls with the privilege of being able to learn and have access to these things, we wanted other girls to have that same access. Our team connected with other aspiring students and sponsors and set out on a mission. 100% of our raised funds have helped hundreds of girls and we are striving to help many more girls.
What if the girls do not have access to basic sanitary supplies or cannot afford hygiene products? To our dismay there are not many girls who have access to it and this has given us a route to work towards providing hygiene kits to low income in underdeveloped countries where Personal hygiene is taken for granted and never spoken about Many do not think that hygiene is strongly linked to education and socioeconomic development . Good hygiene practices must be guaranteed to enable the development of society as a whole. That's when the journey of the Hygiene kit drive began. Our kit includes masks, sanitizers, sanitary pads and hygiene kits with daily needs like soap, toothbrush, and shampoo for young under privileged girls,
As our team has been growing with girls of many interests, we conduct workshops on various subjects, like programming, dance, music, science, and health & wellness. We also have partnered with sponsors and support from many donors like you; 100% of our funds go into making the hygiene kits. We thank each and every one of you who has donated and helped us along the way. We strive to continue to make a bigger difference with all your help and support!
I noticed that there were not many youth advocacy programs in under-developed areas for girls' hygiene, so I decided to start fundraising in an effort to support those in need. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we pivoted from helping local villages in India, Nepal and Ethiopia to donating masks, sanitizers, sanitary pads and hygiene kits with daily needs like soap, toothbrushes, and shampoo for young under privileged girls.
